WELCOME

Welcome to Model High School!

The Model School was established in 1901 near Shannon, Georgia. It was designated as “the model school” for the 7th Congressional District, a title it proudly carries to this day. In the 123 years that Model High has been a part of Floyd County Schools, the building and the student population have changed, but one thing that remains constant is the strong sense of community fostered by the alumni, parents, faculty, and student body.

The school's motto, "Setting the Standard of Success," is a testament to the high expectations of the faculty and staff. Their dedication and support help students achieve their goals, including those that may seem impossible.

Model High School is committed to providing individualized education that caters to students’ unique learning styles. We strive to cultivate independent thought and promote the building of character and self-discipline, enabling students to contribute to their communities in meaningful and positive ways. Our mission is to provide a safe and challenging learning environment where positive relationships are fostered. As a result, students graduate from Model High School fully prepared to pursue college, technical school, the military, or the workforce.

We welcome you to Model High School.
